Prize winners will be notified and then posted on our website by                .  Winners will be notified via email or snail mail, depending on how the entry was submitted.  The Winner and Runner Up, their names and a brief biological history (if provided) will be published on The Tales pages on the TreasureBoxTales website upon the completion of the contest.


The judges for our contest will include editors, writers and readers of varying experience and education.  All of the tales will be judged on originality, creativity and aesthetic quality.  A genuine TreasureBoxTale will ring true with poignancy and universal human experience.


The contest is open to all ages.  We do not accept tales or treasures with violent or erotic content.  Our readers are of all ages, therefore, we do not accept submissions that our editors/judges consider distasteful or highly explicit.  Entries deemed inappropriate will be discarded and the fee forfeited.

All submitted tales must be original writing by the contest entrant. If there are not enough entrants to constitute fair competition, the ditors have the right to declare the the contest null and void, fees will be refunded or can be applied to a futurw contest.

Entries from non-U.S. authors are welcome, providing the tale is written in English, submitted via email and the entry fee paid only through PayPal in U.S. Dollars.  International entries submitted via snail mail with coupons, stamps, international currency, etc. will be discarded.

Privacy Policy does not release or sell customer or contest entrant information to third parties or mailing lists, nor will you receive any telephone solicitations.  We contact you by email or snail mail about any future opportunities for publication or contests.


TreasureBoxTales does reserve the right to feature winning entries on the website and in publications promoting the website for the lifetime of TreasureBoxTales. In the event that the winning author(s) choose to later republish a winning entry in an another publication, TreasureBoxTales requests written credit be given. Authors retain all other rights.  

By submitting a tale to this contest, the author may be eligible for future publication of his/her work in the developing  book series of  the TreasureBoxTales.  

Submitting a tale to our contest implies agreement to stated terms and conditions.

Submission Guidelines

Tale entries by U.S. mail:

  • Print out the Entry Form.  Fill out the form with your correct and current information. 
  • Type up (please double-space)and include a tale for our treasure box, no more than 1300 words long.  Each page of your tale should include a page number and the title only. Your complete information should only appear on the Entry Form included with your submission.  You may include a photo or drawing (not required, but recommended) of your treasure to accompany the tale.
  • Include a payment of $10 U.S. dollars by check(drawn on a U.S. Bank or a U.S. money) order payable to TreasureBoxTales.  We do NOT accept cash. Incorrectly completed checks will not be accepted. Checks must be cleared - entries are not valid until cleared.  Entries without payment will NOT be considered.  TreasureBoxTales is NOT responsible for lost entries or payments.

                                                Include a SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope) for entry confirmation and                                                notifications.

                                                              No limits to entries, but a separate $10 U.S. dollar fee applies to                                                                 each entry.

                                   *  Entries sent electronically must be sent as an email attachment in a word processing document such as Microsoft Word.  "TreasureBoxTales Writing Contest Entry" must be typed in the subject line of the email.  The information requested in the Entry Form can either be included as a cover sheet as part of the typed document or typed into the email message area.  The tale must be no more than 1300 words.  You may include a photo (not required but recommended) of your treasure to accompany your tale.  PayPal payment must be made before submitting the entry..

*  Repeat these steps for each tale you submit to the TreasureBoxTales contest.

*  No limits to entries, but a separate $10 U.S. fee applies to each entry.

Both payment and entry must be sent by mail or both must be sent electronically.  Entries will not be returned.  Any tale exceeding 1300 words will be disqualified and discarded and the entry fee forfeited.  Tales without an entry fee will be discarded without being read.
